| Women from different countries come together to celebrate their diversity through Craft. The workshops are hosted by MDSI in partnership with Camden Council and allow women to express themselves through various forms of craft activities including; Spinning, Knitting and Sewing. The final products will be exhibited at Camden Civic Centre next May. |

Ahmar talks to the Macarthur Chronicle about the Beating
the Barriers project. The MDSI Art Diversity group came
up with the idea of making three quilts to represent
their feelings about domestic and family violence. The
group was taught techniques of appliqué, embroidery,
design, fabric painting and crazy patchwork as part of
the project. The 3 quilts represent: Problems, Hope and
Solutions. The quilts will be used as part of the 16
days of action against domestic violence in December
2008. |

said that homelessness, apart from being a sign on
living in poverty was a human rights issue. |
