Macarthur Food Security Education Officer

21 hours fixed term to September 2013

A two year project funded through the Community Builders program to look at food security issues in the Macarthur area. Comprising of workshops, community-based activities and seeding grants to address local food security issues.

The salary is based on the SCHCADS Award Grade 4 range. In addition, a generous tax free salary package is available. The successful applicants will also benefit from ongoing support, training and flexible working conditions.

Essential Criteria
  • Commitment to the values of capacity building in communities utilizing environmental sustainability principles.
  • Highly developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly developed organisational and administration skills and demonstrated experience in the delivery and collation of training evaluation data
  • Experience in the preparation and delivery of training programs to a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in networking and working in partnership with other agencies on time limited projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Current NSW Drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Community Partners Program Worker

28 hours fixed term to June 2012

The Community Partners Program (CPP) aims to promote and facilitate increased and sustained access to aged care information and services by culturally and linguistically diverse communities with significant aged care needs.

The salary is based on the SCHCADS Award Grade 4 range. In addition, a generous tax free salary package is available. The successful applicant will also benefit from ongoing support, training and flexible working conditions.

Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor of Community Services or Social Work or equivalent training/experience in aged care sector
  • Experience working with older people and their families
  • Knowledge of aged care & related service system & service providers
  • Ability to negotiate with service providers to ensure the provision of information and services in culturally and linguistically appropriate formats
  • Experience in improving access to services for consumer, advocacy & policy development
  • Ability to compile & deliver face to face information & training to small groups
