RIVERFEST 2014

Celebrating a sustainable community

Riverfest is held each year on the last Saturday of August between 11am and 3pm, it aims to raise awareness of the city’s local environment and cultural diversity.

FAMILIES IN CULTURAL TRANSITION PROGRAM

For newly arrived Arabic Families

MDSI invites newly arrived Arabic families to attend a 9 session series of workshops designed to provide information regarding various services.
 

The topics to be covered include:

  • Strengthening family and community relationships
  • Improve relationships with your children and teenagers
  • Understanding Australian culture and systems
  • Becoming self reliant
  • Facing challenges
  • Practical issues such as budgeting & using interpreters
     

Session Dates: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th of September and 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st of October 2014

LUNCH AND CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED

This program is funded by STARTTS (Service for the Treatment & Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors) & the Australian Government, Dept. of Social Services
